The College Bound Program is a Washington State financial aid program that helps eligible students make their plans for education and training after high school a reality. It provides an early commitment of state financial aid to eligible students who meet program requirements.

College Bound funds can help cover tuition and eligible educational costs at participating Washington colleges, universities, and career schools. Eligible students may use the program at more than 60 participating institutions, including public four-year universities, community and technical colleges, private colleges, and career schools. Click HERE to see everything you need to know about the College Bound Scholarship!

What do College Bound students need to do?

Being enrolled in College Bound is an important first step, but students must complete additional requirements to receive funding. Students generally need to:

• Graduate from a Washington high school, homeschool program, or earn a GED in Washington.
• Complete a financial aid application form, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or the WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) beginning their senior year.
• Enroll in a participating college, university, or career school within one year of high school graduation-  65 participating colleges, universities, or programs
• Meet College Bound income requirements and residency requirements.
• Maintain the required academic and conduct standards at their college or career school.

The College & Career Center is here to help Mariner students understand their College Bound status and stay on track to access their financial aid. We encourage students to check in with the College & Career Center early and often, especially during senior year, to make sure they understand their financial aid responsibilities and deadlines.

Remember: College Bound is an opportunity—but students must complete the required steps to receive the funding.
