Dual Credit Options

Dual Credit Options

Students have many dual credit opportunities to earn college credit, while still in high school. Our main dual credit options include:

  • Advanced Placement (AP)
  • College in the High School (CiHS)
  • Running Start (RS)

AP, CiHS, and RS courses are given an extra “weighted” Grade Point Average (GPA). Based on a 4-point scale, courses labeled “Advanced Placement, College in the High School, and/or Running Start” will receive +0.5 on a GPA scale. Please note: Honors courses are not dual credit, but based on a 4-point scale, courses labeled “Honors” will receive +0.25 on a GPA scale.

For the most up-to-date information regarding dual credit courses offered at Mariner HS, please review our Course Catalog.

Another great resource on dual credit programs can be found on the Edmonds College website. Please visit their Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page regarding CiHS and RS.
