Vision/ Mission Statements

Vision Statement: All Mariner students will graduate prepared for post-secondary pathways, careers, and civic engagement.

Mission Statement: The Mariner High School Counseling Department’s mission is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that aligns with ASCA principles and supports the Mukilteo School District’s Comprehensive School Counseling Program Vision/Mission Statements. Our program is designed to support all our students in the areas of academics, college and career readiness, and social emotional well-being.

Our School Counselors strive to know our students by name, identify their strengths and needs, and provide tiered-supports through individual meetings, small groups, classroom guidance lessons, and school-wide programs. We disaggregate and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify student needs, inform our program-making decisions, and determine the effectiveness of our practices. We aim to close the achievement gaps by creating equitable opportunities and inclusive environments that enable all students to succeed. Our School Counselors collaborate and partner with teachers, administrators, staff members, families, and community stakeholders to remove any barriers for academic success. Our goal is that every student will graduate empowered by their decisions to pursue their post-high school pathways.
