Welcome to the Library at Mariner High School! I am a teacher-librarian. Teachers coordinate and collaborate with me in signing up for several blocks for project-based learning, research, and technology integration throughout the course of the year. 

This is my twenty-ninth year of teaching. This is my thirteenth year at Mariner High School. I was the teacher-librarian at Mukilteo Elementary from 2003-2010. Prior to that, I taught English as a Second Language at Picnic Point Elementary in the mornings and was an Elementary Support Teacher teaching technology for third, fourth, and fifth-grade students at Horizon Elementary for two years. I have also taught first grade in the Issaquah School District and have taught third grade in the Port Angeles School District. I also spent four years working as a Reading Specialist in Port Angeles. 

I have a large love for literacy. I enjoy working with computers as well as designing and implementing curricula. I believe that we need to prepare our students for a world in which they will have to be technologically literate as well as consumers and producers of ideas and information. 

When I am not working I enjoy skiing during the winter. I also enjoy traveling to places that involve using a passport with my husband and our very energetic ten-year-old son who we adopted from China in 2016. I also enjoy running, playing basketball, downhill skiing, and spending time with friends, family, and my cat Simon.
