FAFSA & WASFA open DECEMBER 1ST, 2023!
Complete the financial aid forms (FAFSA/WASFA) to determine eligibility for money to attend college.
You will use your 2022 taxes to complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA or WASFA.
FAFSA (students with a social security #)
- Start by creating an FSA ID. Create Account
- Complete the student section of the FAFSA. Apply for Aid
- Parents create an FSA ID, upload their 2022 tax info with the “Data Retrieval Tool”, and complete the Parent section.
WASFA (students without a social security #)
- Go to the WASFA website. WSAC
- Answer a series of questions to determine if you should complete the WASFA.
- Fill out the WASFA application.

Be sure to select the 2024-2025 FAFSA or WASFA as you are completing the application for aid for next year when you will be attending college.
You will use your 2022 taxes to complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA or WASFA.
Start by creating an FSA ID (username/password), then continue on to the FAFSA. Your parent will also need to create an FSA ID for themselves in order to use the "Data Retrieval Tool" to upload their taxes and also to furnish their "Parent Signature" before you submit.
The "Selective Service" question applies to males, aged 18-25. Selective Service is the system used in the United States to draft young people into armed service. Though the United States at present has no draft, young men are requested to register with the Selective Service when they reach the age of eighteen.
*FAFSA can be viewed in Spanish. Click "Espanol" in the upper right-hand corner of the FAFSA online application page.
If your parent(s) are undocumented, there are a few things that will be different when completing the FAFSA.
1. You will enter zeroes for your parent(s) social security number (i.e. 000-00-0000).
2. They will be unable to create an FSA ID for themselves.
3. Your parent will be unable to use the Data Retrieval Tool to upload their taxes. Therefore, you will just enter the tax information in manually.
4. You may get an "Error" message because you listed all zeroes for their SS#. Just continue to click "Next" until it advances you to the next page.
5. Rather than submitting your parent's signature electronically, you will need to print out the signature page, have one of your parents sign it, and mail it to the address printed on the signature page.
